Be on trend with this switch
Can you remember when you brought your first reusable coffee cup or ‘keep cup’ or if you don’t have one have you thought about it?
Was it a conscious switch to think about the environment or did you think, ‘hey everyone seems to have one, so I need one’? Did you need to be on-trend? Well be ahead of the next waste-free switch and buy yourself some reusable cutlery.
First, it was France, now its Germany banning the use of some single-use plastics. In fact, the Europen Union has a strategy for plastics in general. Kudos to a conglomerate of countries to take this initiative as well as many initiatives in regards to creating a circular economy.
South Australia is leading the way in Australia in banning the use of plastic; straws, cutlery, polystyrene cups, bowls and plates, and clamshell containers. How? I hear you say do you then do things like take-away or a food truck festival. The key to plastic-free success is to have reusable cutlery and plates in your tote, where ever you go. When you leave the house think, keys, mobile, hat, bag, keep cup and cutlery. So many of us now have a ‘keep cup’ or equivalent in our bag, so cutlery and a plate just seem like the next evolution.
