'Your mind shines brightest when you enlighten others; your heart, when you encourage others; your soul, when you elevate others; and your life, when you empower others'

A LETTER FROM THE creator
2020 arrived and was vial from the start, personally I witnessed a couple of deaths, a couple of dog deaths and a dog who got dementia. (I had no idea dogs could get dementia). 2020 then became catastrophic. A nightmare! Something out of a movie.
Levata as a brand has had many 'false starts'. That’s life! Everyone has a story, that makes them who they are, I won’t bore you with that, I will however give you some fun facts about me:
~ I have a phobia about birds, yep any feather friend.
~ I am a tree-changer
~ I’m a minimalism wannabe
~ I am dyslexic. So the fact I have started a brand online that involves words terrifies me. So please forgive my grammar and spelling.
~ I have 4 kids, 4 boys in fact. Two are twins. (Most people when finding this out pull a weird face, did you?)
~ I don’t particularly like pink, unless its Rose’ in a glass.
~ I’ve struggled with the concept of having a personal ‘purpose’.
~ I live in the beautiful Macedon Ranges in Victoria and frequent the local farmers markets each weekend with my beloved luggy.
~ Every Sunday night I have a cheese and port date night with my husband, I make a fruit paste, some pickles, crackers and select a local cheese from the farmer’s market the day before.
Probably the most profound fact about me is I love cooking, I feed people with love.
Cooking is my passion, my yoga. It stems from watching my Nonna who lived to a ripe old age, growing and cooking her own food. The kitchen table was a central point of life and living. It nourished those she loved and she was sustainable without knowing what sustainability meant. She wasted nothing and made everything. If she picked olives she made tea out of the leaves. Nothing was waste, just opportunity.
In 2020 when many people are in 'lock down' in their homes, many people are back to their kitchen tables as the central point of their home. This simplicity gives me comfort similar in a way that my Nonna’s table had for many years.
Food brings people together. It enlightens the senses. It can connect us and unlock the pure simplicity of life, if you let it or are open to see it. Food is a universal language, it can evoke joy and enrichment. Coming to my family’s table is the centre of my home and life.
'‘Mi Casa e sua casa' is an Italian saying that translates to ‘my house is your house’.
Join my family table, at Mia Casa.
My Godfather’s words always ring in my head - ' rise above the rest, because cream rises to the top.' Levata is a way to rise, to elevate.
Stay well and keep rising
